Leaving for Boracay

I’ll be out for a summer trip starting tomorow until Friday so I might not be able to attend to this blog and update it. But as soon as I come back, I’ll post some pictures of the island so you would appreciate the beauty of the island and the Philippines as a whole.

This is my first trip off the island of Luzon (the biggest chunk of island where I live). The Philippines is divided into three major islands: Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. Boracay is located in Western Visayas and has a four kilometer white sand beach. Another portion of the beach, the Bulabog beach, is used for windsurfing and kiteboarding, You may want to read more of Boracay in Wikipedia. See you all there!

International Book Day at Instituto Cervantes

I was at Instituto Cervantes last Saturday to attend my Spanish class and participate in the International Book Day (Dia Del Libro). It was a day full of exciting  activities. I was with 3 friends and we enjoyed listening to the orchestra, listening to various talks during that day along with book launch of Tesoro Literario de Filipinas, a collection of Filipino short stories written in English and Filipino (Tagalog) which were translated into Spanish.

This is my first participation in celebration spearheaded by Instituto Cervantes in Manila. Two meetings to go before I finish my Level 1 class and finally move to Level 2. Studying a foreign is fun and rewarding. You get to meet a lot of people and learn to think and learn on the perspective of the people who speak the language you’re learning. I have a positive vibe that the Level 2 will be better and more exciting than Level 1.
