Truth Behind JBL Hospital Has Confirmed Patient Infected with Influenza AH1N1 Virus

I received almost 10 text messages saying that Jose B. Lingad (JBL) Memorial Hospital in San Fernando City, Pampanga (Philippines) has one confirmeed case of AH1N1 virus. This news made me unable to sleep last night. The text message even point to the Department of Health website’s Influenza A (H1N1) Broadsheet Advocacy section. I visited the site but there’s nothing in there for JBL. I think that this is just a plain hoax/scam.

People sometimes do not think about the implications of their actions. More so with the psychological effect of driving people to panic for somethng that isn’t true. I believe that they should track cellphone users who are perpetrators of fabricated news especially in serious cases like the influenza AH1N1 Virus.

I still hope that the Philippines will stay free from this virus although they already confirmed a few who. The people who were identified to having the virus are now in stable condition. I hope Mexico will get over it, soon, as well. Let’s all be safe by staying healthy.

My sister confirmed that there is a suspected h1n1 virus patient at JBL. However, JBL refused to admit this patient instead they have suggested to bring the patient to Manila as JBL employees/staff are not that well trained to treat this kind of virus yet.

Anyway, prevention is always better than the cure so we should all be aware of this issue.

As a mother and as a hospital worker, this issue concerns me a lot. I just pray that Philippines will stay free from Influenza A (H1N1)virus. Still, as individuals we have to do our part and be extra careful.

@trouble, incredible, twinks, its kinda scary that these messages are moving around but no one in the media seems to be able to confirm this. so apparently this is a hoax. i hope people should stop fabricating stories. if this is true, fine. if not, i just wish it stops.
