Starbucks’ Farmhouse Cheese Quiche “Vegetarian” (Product Review)

Starbucks' Farmhouse Cheese Quiche “Vegetarian”

Starbucks' Farmhouse Cheese Quiche “Vegetarian”

Let me introduce you to this delicious vegetarian snack at Starbucks – Farmhouse Cheese Quiche.

I don’t usually order cakes, pastries, or whatever Starbucks have whenever I visit the coffee shop. Its not that I don’t like them, its just that they’re very expensive. Well, not really expensive but at least “it is” as compared to other stores. I only had the chance to really taste one of them which is the Farmhouse Cheese Quiche when a friend from Manila bought for me for a treat.

I was surprised that I was ignoring this good food for sooo long. As a disclosure to anyone who reads this, I am a not-so-strict vegetarian. I kinda like the taste especially the cheddar cheese its baked with along with broccoli with some carrot I think. For a USD$1.50, its a best buy for me.

Filipinos Are Happy People: 14th Happiest People on the Planet

Learning from a local news cast a few minutes ago, the Philippines, and hence, the Filipinos are tagged as taking the 14th place of the happiest people in the planet. This proves that money is not the measurement of happiness and that despite of economic crisis, Filipinos managed to keep sane and on top of all difficult situations.

The criteria were set by New Economic Foundation’s Ranking using life expectancy, people’s happiness in their lives, and environmental impact (I wonder what this is for) as the basis for the measurement of happiness.

In the midst of A(H1N1), dirty political crisis, and typhoons situations, Filipinos never fails to joke around with anything. Probably we were born with it, weren’t we?

Off From Cold

For the past two days, I was sick and have been battling with cold. Good thing I was diagnosed negative for A(H1N1) virus because the entire office got nervous seeing me sneezing while working in the office. I feel like I have highly-contagious disease that could kill them although I understand where they’re coming from.

Good enough I was granted to rest for a day. It gave my body an opportunity to rest and fight off the infections while at rest. I took a lot of juices and vitamin C supplements before I slept last night. The next morning, I was OK. I think vitamin C is really important in fighting off bodily infections. Have a dose of required vitamin C everyday to keep your body from infectious diseases.

Lock&Lock Seasoning Case Review

Lock&Lock Seasoning Case
Lock&Lock Seasoning Case

I love Lock&Lock brand and those who have used it before will definitely agree with me that its has surpassed the glory of Tupperware.

But one item that really frustrated me was the Lock&Lock Seasoning Case I bought a few weeks ago. This Lock&Lock Seasoning Case was supposed to be tight-lock and should not spill nor there be an entry point for insects like ants. It was my intention why I bought the product anyway. We were experiencing ant infestation at home for our condiments that’s why I bought them.

Truly, there are some products that have faulty design or won’t work as designed like Lock&Lock Seasoning Case. The rear neck portion allowed entry for sugar ants (a type of ants with bothering smell; smaller than regular red ant). I bought Lock&Lock Seasoning Case at SM Clark. I am still thinking if I’ll bring it back due to my tight schedule.

Should you buy this product? NO.

Its has pretty good luck but it has faulty design. It should improve in the future. This review does not intend to discredit Lock&Lock but the public should know that this particular product (not the entire brand itself) is not a good investment.

The Fashion Swap: A Success

It was a huge honor to be part of this first ever fashion swap that ever happened in the Philipppines. Through the help Jamie, a friend at work, I was able to participate in this event and got the chance to brush shoulders with fashion enthusiasts and celebrities in Makati.

We were supposed to arrive at the event prior its opening time of 2 PM but because we have to buy something to wear during the event, we were almost late for an hour. Nevertheless, it was fun and I have to admit that I am looking forward for another fashion swap in Makati.

The Fashion Swap is organized by The Rockwell Club and Fashion Group International. It works by finding some stuffs in your closet that you’d like to trade with other swappers. The item should be in good condition and has some sort of “style”. Each item are given corresponding points based on a certain criteria. Your overall points determines your ability to shop for items during the event date. Absolutely no money involved (well at least you have to pay for the ticket which will serve as an entrance fee).

Let me share some of the pictures I took during the event. I’ll post more pictures as soon as I get copies from our fellow crews who were tasked to take pictures.

The Challenges and Wonders of Parenthood

Avril Using The Computer

Avril Using The Computer

I love my nephews and nieces. Seeing them enjoy life and protect them as muchas I can is already an achievement for me. I know I am not a parent yet but I witnessed how these children grow as I guide both them and their parents.

My sister who’s just 18 when she got married barely knew parenting at that time so we helped her get through such a difficult phase of her life. Now that she’s 20, I know that he has a learned a great deal how parenting presents a really big challenge to all parents. Here’s my two-year old Avril playing the computer. She likes to tap on my keyboard everytime she sees me using my computer. I wonder when I’ll ever get my own kid…But surely, I promise to be very responsible…

Tips on How To Protect Your Credit Report

Our credit report or credit history talks a lot about our financial status and more so our overall personality. Credit report speaks about how we spend our money and how responsible we are as citizens in our dealings with various business establishments such as banks, lending institutions, stores, etc.

Credit report is synonymous to our financial reputation – a credit reputation to be exact. It predicts the likelihood that we will be able to repay our debts and other forms of financial obligation. How we manage the money we have and settle our monthly financial obligations is one valid way to protecting our credit report or credit history.

Some simple tips to helping you avoid bad credit report, and improve your credit history:

  • Keep Credit Debt At Minimum. Manage your debts by making sure that you have enough left before the end of the month.
  • Don’t Close CC or CD accounts. Closing credit card and checking accounts damages your credit score.
  • Pay Your Bills On Time. Don’t let the day pass and make your bills fall no their due dates. Allot monthly budget to regularly pay your credit card bills and utilities.

These are not cut in stones and you’ll surely have something in mind that are more useful than the ones above. But these three tips will help you manage if not totally improve your credit score.

My Sister April and Her Daughter Avril

We were out last night with my mom and my sister April with her 3 year old daughter Avril, and two nephews Glenn and Kevin for a dinner at McDonalds. We had a great time. I took a few pictures and thought of posting some in here just so you would know how my sister and her baby looks like.

My niece and nephews enjoyed the dinner at McDonalds. The fastfood resto has a playground inside and this has added up to the overall enjoyment of the kids. I am starting to get envious that my siblings are starting to see their kids grow up…

I Am Now a Registered Voter!

This statement is quite an overstatement because I haven’t gotten my voter’s ID yet. But surely, it will be processed since my application went on smoothly.

Good thing the Commission on Election in our city (Angeles City, Pampanga, Philippines) operates even on Saturdays due to the upcoming 2010 election Philippine National Election and to give chance to working individuals to register.

I’m 27 and this is my first time ever to vote. I used to be a bitter lad on political issues. I always believe that Philippine election is fraud but I soon realized that I am missing part of my citizenry and that I should participate in this kind of event even when I have 100% faith in it. That every citizen have a social resposibility to vote and elect their leaders and draw the future of his/her nation.
